「ホースシューベンド」
聞いたことある方、いらっしゃいますか？
直訳すると、「馬のひづめ」
馬のひづめに似た形の崖があるということで、今日は、ホースシューベンドに行った時の話です!

地図を見たら一目瞭然！
ぐいんっと、蛇行しております。
これはコロラド川で、アメリカ南西部からメキシコ北部を流れ、最終、カリフォルニア湾へと至る全長2,330kmの川です。
（ちなみに北海道から九州までの長さが、、、
およそ2,300km！！
いかに長い川か、お分かりいただけたでしょうか。笑
やっぱ、アメリカでっか！）

ホースシューベンドの駐車場代 １台$10
駐車場から少し歩きますが、トレッキングというほどの道ではないのでご安心ください。
ただ、日陰がない！
この通り、木がないんです。
売店もないので、帽子、サングラス、水分は必須です。
車を止めて、トボトボ歩いていくと、人だかりが！
人だかりの先には、急に崖になっていて…..
こんな感じ！

私たちが行った2017年は柵も何もないので、一歩間違えるとOUTな状態でしたが、今はもう転落防止柵が設置されてるので安心してください。
ホースシューベンドも素敵なのですが、私個人としては、ここの空に心を惹かれてしまいました〜
空が青い！広い！美しい！
結局、あまりホースシューベンドは撮影せず。
この日は、ずっと大地と空ばかり撮っていました。
キャンピングカーの一番後ろの窓から、夕陽を撮るのにハマった時期もあったな〜笑
というわけで、今日はほぼ写真でしたが、空の綺麗さが伝わったでしょうか？

Horseshoe Bend
Have you ever heard of it?
When translated literally, it means “hoof of a horse”.
Today, I will tell you about my experience visiting Horseshoe Bend, which is a cliff that resembles a horseshoe.
If you look at the map, it’s easy to see!
The Colorado River winds its way through this area, flowing from the southwestern United States to northern Mexico, and eventually reaching the Gulf of California, with a total length of 2,330 km.
(By the way, the distance from Hokkaido to Kyushu in Japan is approximately 2,300 km! Can you imagine how long that is? Well, it’s really huge, just like America!)
[Travel Information]
Parking fee at Horseshoe Bend: $10 for one car.
You have to walk a bit from the parking lot, but it’s not a challenging hike, so don’t worry.
However, there’s no shade because there are no trees around.
Just as I mentioned, there are no shops there, so make sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.
As you park your car and walk slowly, you’ll notice a crowd of people.
At the end of the crowd, there’s a sudden cliff that looks like this:
It’s magnificent!
When we visited in 2017, there were no safety barriers, so one wrong step and you could be in serious trouble. But now, there are safety railings to prevent falls, so you can enjoy the view without worries.
Horseshoe Bend is beautiful, but personally, I was captivated by the sky here:
The sky is blue, vast, and stunning! In the end, we didn’t take many pictures of Horseshoe Bend. On that day, we focused on capturing the land and the sky.
I even got into a phase of taking sunset photos from the back window of our camper van. Good times!
So, today’s story was mostly about the pictures, but I hope I was able to convey the beauty of the sky.
